What birthday would be complete without cake and flowers?  Thanks to Liz H, we had a lovely, moist, gluten-free chocolate cake with “spoon ganache“.  Fresh daffodils came courtesy of Renee.
What is “spoon ganache,” you say?  Some time ago, Liz came over and found my daughter, Brenna, making chocolate ganache.  She asked what Brenna was going to eat it on and Brenna replied, “A spoon!”  Liz no longer makes any other frosting, as this is the richest easiest recipe going.  Here it is:
Melt one package of Ghiradelli semi-sweet chocolate chips with a can of coconut milk.  This can be done in a microwave  or oveer a double-boiler.  Stir until the ganache is a smooth consistency.  Pour over cake or just enjoy on a spoon!
